How to set up court booking.
Court bookings run through the LTA / ClubSpark system. As the main contact at your address, the account is set up in your name — the rest of the household plays under it. It's a one-off setup; after that, booking takes seconds.
How to sign up & book a court
Get your LTA BTM number
First you need an LTA membership number (a BTM — British Tennis Membership number). It's free. To register, visit the LTA website, select Join Now and create a free account — choose the Advantage Play+ package. Verify your email, complete your profile with your club, and a unique BTM number will be generated. You'll need it for competitions, ticketing, and to book courts here.
Step-by-step registration
- 1. Visit the LTA website: go to the LTA Advantage membership page.
- 2. Join Now: select Join Now and choose your option — pick Advantage Play+ for the free standard membership.
- 3. Enter your details: name, address, date of birth, and contact info.
- 4. Verify your account: click the verification link in the email the LTA sends (can take up to 15 minutes).
- 5. Assign your venue: log in, go to your profile / account area, and add Smalley Lawn Tennis Club under My Venues.
- 6. Receive your BTM number: your account is activated and a unique BTM number is allocated to you.
Good to know
- Cost: Advantage Play+ is free.
- Benefits: BTM number is required to enter LTA tournaments, join a team, and enter the Wimbledon ticket ballot.
- Juniors: junior membership is also free, particularly for those affiliated with a club.
- Existing LTA user: if you already have a venue linked, you may still need to register to get a BTM number assigned to your profile.
Join ClubSpark
Once you have your BTM number, check your email — you'll see an invitation to join ClubSpark (this is where our court booking lives). Use your BTM details as your sign-in for ClubSpark. That's it — you should now be set up on the club's booking system.
Not seen the invite? Email smalleytennis@hotmail.com and a committee member will resend it.
Download the LTA Booker app
Search for LTA Booker in the App Store or Google Play (the icon looks like the one shown). Sign in with your BTM details. You'll now be able to book courts at Smalley — up to 7 days ahead, free for members.
Household accounts
As the main contact at your address, the booking account is set up under your name. Other family members at the same address play under that booking — just add their names when you reserve the court.
